Dec 29th. A long time since I posted anything here...obviously I am very bad at this.
An update is therefore needed.
Glory now has her tracking dog title, her junior hunter and her working certificate. She has one leg on her CD that she got in Halifax at the specialty and she is at 8 points for her Championship. She got 4 points at the booster in Halifax.
So we are now concentrating for the winter on obedience and handling drills for senior hunter.
She is doing very well at obedience....
I started using a toy to toss over the broad jump so she will keep doing that well. She has never walked on it before but today after months of doing the broad jump...she tried walking through the boards. Everything else seems to be going much faster than with the other utility dogs that I have trained. She does lovely signals with the clicker and she is doing a great recall. She does a very nice Drop on recall but I am not doing that as much lately so we maintain the straight recall for Novice. I have registered her with both AKC and with NAMBR so that we can compete in those events in preparation for CKC. She has been doing the articles well on the board. Started today with some tied loosely to the board so she has to use her nose a bit more that before. Her stand is still not the greatest but with Don home for the holidays he has been helping me a bit more with that. She has a tendency to sit when I go back to her as well....so working on that as well.
Retrieve on the high jump is pretty much proofed and even with off hand throws to either direction she will still take the jump coming and going....so that is going really well. Still tightening up heeling as well and want to do some more of that with the "I can't believe you did that!" routine. That might help a bit.
